Ingredients
  

  • 6 slices slices of bread (white or whole grain), cut into cubes
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled (or bacon, chopped)
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers (red and green for a festive touch)
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 1 cup baby spinach (optional)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Ingredients:
    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Grease the baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
    Cut bread into cubes, cook the sausage (or bacon), and dice the vegetables.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
    Layer the bread cubes evenly in the baking dish.
    Sprinkle cooked sausage (or bacon), diced bell peppers, onions, and spinach (if using) over the bread.
    Spread shredded cheese evenly on top.
  • Prepare the Egg Mixture:
    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Combine and Bake:
    Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered casserole, pressing lightly to ensure all bread cubes are soaked.
